Raw maca contains maca root’s full nutritional profile including all amino acids and because of that is somewhat more potent that the gelatinized version. For people who don’t have digestive sensitivities, we recommend it. However, if you do have a sensitive stomach please go with gelatinized maca. It will not cause any indigestion and does still maintain the majority of maca’s key nutrients and benefits.

We receive this question often and are happy to answer here. Indeed, all high quality maca can be used and can be effective for fertility purposes. In fact, increased fertility rates among livestock that ate maca was how people discovered the plant in the first place. Yellow maca is not exception to this as it works the help the body with balancing hormones, increasing sex drive, heightening sexual desire and boosting sperm count. We typically recommend red maca for female fertility and black maca for male fertility. But for convenience, it may be easier for both partners to take yellow maca.
